The Internet: Reflection Essay

Global Networks are interrelation and interconnections of people between global and national borders. Also, Globalization is multidimensional. There are 4 different globalization such as Economic, Socio Cultural, Politics, and Nature Globalization. These 4 are surrounding us in our everyday lives as we can see through the internet, and social media.
Economically, there are apps that provides an online shop through social media such as Zalora, Lazada, Shopee and many more. Instead of going to the actual store I  use this so that I can save my time going to the place, since traffic is everywhere in the Philippines. I always use Shopee when I need something to wear, or if I saw something that is cute. These apps can be use globally which all of the people can access through it. Socially, I always listen to other artists in Spotify, especially in other countries such as singers like Shawn Mendes, Khalid, and many more. Naturally, the world must know that metal straws are highly recommended now a days, since turtles and the mother nature are dying fast. We might not see it, but I think every individual feels it. I know that it is happening, especially that climate change is getting higher also. So for the environment to be save, We must use metal straws and never use again plastic straws.

The Evolution of Family Structures such as Traditional Family, and Transnational Family. Traditional Family is where all of the members are in the same country and in the same house. While Transnational Family is where a parent is working abroad, but still have a connection to his/her family. Most of the people who are experiencing this are the OFW’s and its family. It may bring benefit to them, but a home will never be complete if one is missing. There are gonna be a lot of sacrifices to be done, to attain your goals and dreams.
I may not experience that, but I know the feeling of someone who is far away from you. I have relatives that are living in US, and Singapore. I also have a best friend who went home to her country, Korea. Her name is Yeji. We’ve been contacting each other since the day that she left which was in the year of 2013. It’s been 5 years  since we last saw each other and It is very hard even though that our time is different for only an hour away, since Korea is very different from the Philippines like education. We always contact each other through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Because of the internet we reconnect the people who we see in our everyday lives. In someway I thought that this isn’t enough, since I’m not seeing my best friend everyday, instead I talk to my phone. Even though that we occasionally facetime or video call each other, the presence of her beside me and in this country is nowhere to be found but in Korea. I am afraid that we might lost our connection, since she’s also living her life in Korea, while I’m here in the Philippines. But I am praying and hoping that it will not lead down there.

Through my experiences in Globalization and the Family Structures I can say that Internet is revolving around us. It follows us to through generation to another generation and it is making the world easier and a better place. Like in education where in UST have developed an online access for learners which is called the Blackboard. In transportation, Grab and Uber. A transportation system where commuters benefit from these apps, instead of waiting in lines for the MRT, LRT, and jeeps. You can access through this in using the internet while at home. In conclusion, the internet walk among us.
